Story 4 - Diffused Sunrays

"One hot cappuccino with whipped cream and no sugar ! Just the way you like it" He said showing off the huge cup as he walked in to the room.
"Thank you Karthick" She smiled as she tried to sit up in the bed. 
She looked to the right and saw a girl laughing at him "Someone is being sweet today - you want something don't you, mister?"

"You are the best!" Both the girls exclaimed as they took a sip from the cup.
He laughed, "Anything for you, maam" 

"How was your day?" He continues as he sits down next to her. 

"I FINALLY figured out how to change the voice in my new book reader. No more listening to that drab voice  which makes me sleep." she says. 
The girl on the right chatters "We went to this really awesome hike after work in tiger hills. The view was was amazing. We should go there together sometime Karthick" 

Her phone beeps - Message from Neel. Wanna meet on Friday for dinner? 
"Will you take me? It has been a while" she asks him.
The girl on the right says "I am going for dinner on Friday and you are not invited. We need sometime to bitch about you right? You can do whatever boring stuff that you do!" 

"Of course I am coming. Do you even have to doubt that?" he answers them with a twinkle. Neel, Karthick and her have been best friends since college.

"Would you like to go for a walk?" He asks after a while.
"Would love to" she answers as he helps her to the wheel chair.  
The girl on the right had already skipped half way in the hallway to search for her shoes and was asking him to come soon. 

It was a beautiful day out there. They walk to their favorite spot near the shore and sit down on a bench.
The kids in the basketball court call out - join us for a game! She nods at him and says "Go on, I am going to sit here finish off this book". The girl on the right laughs, "20 bucks my team wins" and pulls him to the ground.  

A lot has changed since the accident 2 years back. Her whole left side of the body from neck down was paralysed and she can't go anywhere without help.  She had pleaded for a divorce to him multiple times. He wouldn't agree. 

The sun was just about to set as he came back. They sit in silence to watch the sunset. 
"I love you" he smiles. 
The girl on the right laughs "Love is overrated, Karthick"
She smiles as she whispered "Love you too, Karthick" 
 A lot has changed since the accident - Some things didn't, she realized as she looked down and saw the diffused rays strike the diamond of the ring in her lifeless finger.

It is ok to not have your shit together

It is yet another weekend during the quarantine. Friday evening, my plan for the weekend  was to do some work, meal prep and take care of weekly cleaning duties (which was ambitious in itself, but then I also had a stretch goal of setting up some kitchen appliances and reading a book). Saturday came in and I had a headache since morning - fixed a simple meal for lunch and mostly slept through the day. Around 9 o clock in the night - I started feeling super guilty and began my weekly cleaning duties and a little bit of meal prepping till mid night. Story 6 - Mission Voyager

Day 1830, Mission Voyager Year 2139 Recorder: Fanny Pao We have finally set up our base in this strange planet - on top of one of the hives that these aliens live in. After observing for the last 2 months from our space shuttle, we concluded that no one would ever come up here. There is a water stream nearby and one of us have to discreetly go down to fetch water once our resources dwindle - We couldn't afford to live in the same luxurious way of our space station. The environmental conditions are decent - we have enough oxygen to breathe without the need of an oxygen tank, though we need our air filters since the air is polluted. Temperature can vary to almost twice the range we can handle in both the low and high ends, so we have to wear our suits all the time - but that's only a small inconvenience. The cry of a skinny girl

One of my secret wishes for a long time now had been to go on a diet for a few days. Now any one who knows me well enough would confirm you that i am the last person they can imagine who is in need of a diet - Having never crossed 40 kgs all my life i have always been grouped into the "to be well fed and cared for" category. That category of teens for whom chocolates,ice creams,cakes, cookies and sweets are not special treats but a "must eat" food item. You might say that it is not something to cry about. But if you go to a doctor for common cold and he advises you to have an ice cream a day to gain weight, then probably there's something wrong (either with the doctor or you) for you to worry about.Happened.      "Eat well".
