Story 6 - Mission Voyager

Day 1830, Mission Voyager
Year 2139
Recorder: Fanny Pao

We have finally set up our base in this strange planet - on top of one of the hives that these aliens live in. After observing for the last 2 months from our space shuttle, we concluded that no one would ever come up here. There is a water stream nearby and one of us have to discreetly go down to fetch water once our resources dwindle - We couldn't afford to live in the same luxurious way of our space station.

The environmental conditions are decent - we have enough oxygen to breathe without the need of an oxygen tank, though we need our air filters since the air is polluted. Temperature can vary to almost twice the range we can handle in both the low and high ends, so we have to wear our suits all the time - but that's only a small inconvenience. The base is set up with a temperature controller in case things worsen. Overall things look favorable so far.

We have started observing these aliens from our observing post today - and it is already very scary and confusing. The most intriguing species on this planet looks like giants towering us almost by 4 - 5 times. They can run at an alarmingly fast rate for their size and their skin color ranges from pitch black to pale white and their facial features vary a lot making each one of them look very different from another. They seem to have other aliens as their pets - some creatures are almost as tall as us while others are smaller. Each of these alien creatures have their own language to communicate with each other, but inter species communication seems to happen as well.

The giants are very intelligent and have established means of transportation - sometimes, we see small space shuttles travelling in the sky and I am not sure if they have spotted our base yet. It is very unsettling. But no one has barged in so far, so I think we are safe for now.

Day 1832, Mission Voyager

Today as we were observing from our positions, we saw a fight breakout among the giants. There were around 100 of them hitting on each other with huge sticks and crushing each other under their foot. The wounds were deep and a dark liquid seemed to seep out of the heads of a few giants. One of the giant even lost an arm and still continued to fight. There was absolute chaos in the streets. Some of the giants got tools to shoot from a distance and the giants that were hit dropped down unable to move. This was unlike anything I have ever witnessed before.

*Fanny Pao was brave. He has pioneered multiple space explorations to different planets and faced many a battles. But his courage was failing him today.*

I have made my decision. If these giants can do this to one another, I cant imagine what they are capable of doing to us. We are going to go back to the space station, travel back to our home and hope that these "earthlings" never discover space travel.
