Relationships these Days
Sometimes, I really get offended when people say 'girls love gossiping'. I mean, truth hurts. Literally. But well, who cares! what are friends for if one can't even gossip with them? :P
And so, we were having this gossip session going on in college one day (yea, we do productive things during class hours) when one of my friends told this super cool story about her friend's friend's friend. (now you know why I said we love gossiping)
A week in this girl's life.
Day 1 :
*Girl talking to a cool and popular guy in her college *
She : I think i really like you and i feel that perhaps you are the one for me. Do you love me?
He : Yea, I think i love you too.
*They both are now officially committed with blessings from the heaven above*
Day 2 :
Girl : I guess we are incompatible. Maybe we should break up.
Guy : Wtf! What do you even know about me to say that we are not compatible? (I have no idea why this guy didn't ask this question before accepting the proposal)
Girl : I don't know anything and I don't care. All I know is that this is not going to work out.
Guy : But we just got committed yesterday. *eyes glistening*
Girl : So? If you want to keep thinking about me and keep crying about it, that is not my problem. I'm moving on. Good Bye.
*Poor Guy grows beard and is in the process of becoming a devadas*
Day 3 :
*A smart guy walks in.*
Him : Listen, I heard what happened and I don't care about it. I really like you. Do you want to go out with me?
Her : yea okie.. I don't mind.
Day 4 :
Her : You know what, you are no way more interesting than him. This is just like regular dating and I don't care anymore.
Him : What do you mean? you want to take the relationship to the next level?
Her : Well, I don't mind.
Him : I'm looking for a girl, who really is worth being committed with. Get lost, you bitch.
*smart guy walks out and lives happily ever after* I must tell you, I am really impressed!
Day 5 :
*Her friend's brother's friend whom she met a week back at her friend's place*
Him : I think you are a very nice and sweet girl. I'm crazily in love with you.
Her : I'm not who you think I am.*describes the incidents that happened in the past few days* Do you still love me?
Him : I'll think over it and get back to you.
Day 6 :
Smart guy : I was thinking about what you said yesterday. Let us just have this as a "relationship with benefits". Okie?
Girl : I'll think over it and get back to you.
After a hearty laugh, the story put a more philosophical question in my mind. What has relationship come to these days? Is it something for people to just toy around with or do people really care? Unfortunately, very few people do and it is to these souls that I write hence forth. Ah, the satisfaction that comes from giving free advice!!. And just to ensure that you don't ask what rights i have to give relationship advice..

Anyways, here goes..
1. Choose your partner wisely : Guys go behind bitches and say "inda ponungale ipadi than", girls go behind jerks and say "all guys are the same". There's no point in falling for the wrong person and blaming the other gender. That's your fault - Learn to accept it!
2. Don't be too inspired by the movies : Well, I have said it before and I am saying it again - movies are just meant to be enjoyed, not lived through. Just because some random hero falls in love with a girl he met on the street and they live happily ever after, doesn't mean that it is going to happen in your life too. The probability that you may end up in jail is much higher.
3. Keep expectations minimum : Just because the other person is in love with you doesn't mean that they have to do every other thing that you say or expect. Shouting out "ena love panrala apo panu" in reemasen style is not going to take you any where other than kilpauk. So beware.
4. Be practical : It is one thing to dwell on dreams and another to live in reality. Understand that relationship is not just about having a person to rely upon when in need or being with a person who can make you smile and laugh. It's about being reliable and friendly too. So, unless you are ready to accept the responsibility don't get involved in commitments.
And best of all, Be single! There's no better way to enjoy life :P
